This park has been here since I was a kid and is in an area of very expensive homes right on an arm of the back bay in Newport Beach. My quick impression of our stay was, great location, with a so so site. This is a very kid friendly place. There was a craft project for our grandchild at 10am, another planned thing at 2pm, movies at night, and so on. And when the sun peaks out of the clouds (something that does not happen often in May and June here) there is a great beach on a bay. It has tons of big kid type toys, boats, and so on. But again, our space was so so. Kind of small, sand no grass, sewer hook up was kind of impossible to use right. Jets take off frequently all day. There are a number of view sites with more room and ambiance than our site. But we did not get one of those. This place should be great in July and Aug. But weather only so so in May. And that was the end of May too. But since I think this is the only RV park in Newport I would say give it a try if you want to be in this area.
This is a nice family park near Julian in San Diego County CA. Our site was quiet with lots of trees and shade. The park is like, well, a park, and that was very good. However, the facilities are not up to what you normally expect. Such as sewer hook ups. There were none. Unless you are a permanent resident. When I say permanent don't think of low level. What you have in this park is a bunch of weekenders or folks escaping the desert heat who have a trailer or RV here. Many have built patios and so on. There is also a large tent area. Also, there is a small fishing lake. If you like to look up at the stars you will like it here. We brought our telescope. It is about four miles from here to Julian. If you want to be in a park like setting this is a great place. Might be a bit cramped to get really huge class A's in. Spaces slope down and that blocks the noise from the road. However, there is some motorcycle noise on weekends. Julian attracts TONS of motorcycle riders on weekends. You can certainly hear when 40 Harleys go by.
Nice KOA right off the 40 Interstate. Gravel not paved. Friendly check in. This park is right on Route 66. Lots of Rt 66 stuff in gift shop. Nice pool and laundry. Pay WiFi, but not expensive. Some sites with nice view of lights of Laughlin. Close to town.
Part of our problem with this park was that we arrived here from a wonderful 10+ place. This KOA was only passable. Barely. Gravel here, not paved. Sites have no, or almost no, grass. When I first went to use the mens room 2 of the 3 stalls were out of order. I reported it and it was quickly fixed though. The other downer was the constant firecrackers. Our dog hates them and after two nights at this park of frequent blasts we and our Airdale had had it. Our first site was a non pull through where when I pulled all the way to the trees I was able to hook up the sewer. And the sewer was too high for our low slung coach so it was a hassle to set up. Plus our first space we were next to the Beverly Hillbilly's. We have nothing against old coaches as ours is 33 years old. But next to us was a newer coach than ours that I am sure had to be towed to it's current location. Then there was the boat, and ATV with no tires. And a swap meet full of other stuff. We requested and were able to get another site. Which was great till later in the day when the too-good-for-anyones showed up. And then those delightful folks packed up and left at 4am. The slamming, warm up, and other noise made sure we were awake. And this was our experience.
Old time style park. Very nice people, but colorful. No credit cards. But low prices. A church right next door if you are so inclined. A big plus of this place is that there is no freeway or train noise. I rated it a bit higher than some would as I sort of like the little bit of color. But I am funk tolerant.
Wow what a great RV Park. This is most likely the nicest commercial RV Park we have ever stayed in. The reason I qualified my rating is that we have stayed in some Park spots where the views were better. But this park is really at the top of the places I have been to. Plus the weather has been perfect here for late December. The people were very friendly and it seems like there are lots of people cleaning and taking care of everything. The bathroom / showers were the best of any place I have ever been. There are ten bathroom / shower rooms. Each clean and climate controlled. Very nice heated pool. One large hot tub and three smaller mineral water hot tubs. They have an exercise room. Reading room with Wi-Fi. Today there were free Yoga lessons. Tomorrow night a new years eve party. Spaces have lots of room. View from park is quite good. They have paid attention to make the edges of the park a bit higher than where you are staying so that what you see is grass and park like grounds and then the mountains. You don't see the general desert funk across the street. There is a nine hole golf course. Lots of grass. Big dog run. And you can even buy a house on the other side of the park if you like it a lot.
I have stayed here 4-5 times in the last couple of years. The last time I had a space overlooking a modest size lake. Looked out my MH at 6:30am to see a small boat fishing on the lake. For the middle of the eastern part of Los Angeles this is GREAT. I have rated this park high because of the fact that it is a nice place to park, and is in LA. There is some noise, but again, middle of LA. One time of the year you have to watch out for with regard to noise in in Feb. The winternationals drag races take place and are in the Pomona fairgrounds just below the park. You definitely can hear them. And they practice late. My motor home is 26' and even I had to be a little careful about driving on some of the park roads. Really big rigs would need to be very careful. This park is regularly pretty full. I have never made a reservation and have always been able to get in, but in summer I would make reservations.
A very well situated park to visit the Buellton, Solvang, Los Olivos area. Just off the freeway but quiet, this park is big and busy. Lots of amenities here like pool, rec room, small store, and so on. Within close walking distance of Anderson's Split Pea food and shop. We picked up a case of the excellent but hard to find tomato soup. Be sure to visit Los Olivos when here. Lovely small artsy town that was in the movie Sideways. Don't bother to drive to the beach, very bad access. Mostly military on the beach. Friendly staff and people staying here. Lots of smiling faces. But be sure to reserve ahead for weekends.
This was a well located park within walking distance of the historic city of Columbia. The walk is around 1/2 mile. Situated in a forest type setting you can while away some time here enjoying just the park. We used our stay to explore Jamestown, Sonora, Murphy's, and Angels Camp. And of course we went into Columbia every day on foot. The town of Columbia is a State park. It is a collection of brick buildings from the gold rush days and offers history, good food, hotels, and a nice theater. We went to see a very good production of a musical about Hank Williams when we were there. We loved the town of Murphy's too. Be sure to visit the Ironstone Winery to see a huge/giant gold nugget and wonderful gardens. The owners/managers of this RV Park could not have been nicer. They were very attentive to our needs and always had a smile on the faces. My one small niggle is no heat in the mens shower area. Kind of cold in April. Very good free WiFi, but cell phone did not work.
Nice park fairly close to Paso Robles and I-5. Be careful about following your GPS here as our Garmin got lost. Very clean facilities and extremely friendly staff. But the park is close to a pretty busy road and noise can be an issue. Also no shade to speak of and it gets very hot here in the summer.
